About Hector J. Tamayo
Mr. Tamayo’s practice focuses primarily on Criminal Defense as well as Civil Litigation. His clients include those charged with serious offenses in both state and federal courts as well as misdemeanors such as DUI. His civil practice focuses on those affected by serious injuries such as motorcycle collisions and wrongful death occurrences. Mr. Tamayo is often referred clients by his peers because of their knowledge that Mr. Tamayo is a trial attorney with an excellent track record and is aggressive, professional and knowledgeable. Mr. Tamayo is also known for his personal yet professional style in dealing with other members of the bar and with his clients. In only his second year of practice Mr. Tamayo was recognized for his abilities and was a semi-finalist for being one of San Diego’s top criminal defense attorneys.
Mr. Tamayo is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in Political Science with an emphasis in Comparative Politics. He speaks Spanish fluently and was born and raised in San Diego County. During law school Mr. Tamayo was selected for an externship with the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi, Senior Judge of the United States District Court, Central District of California and interned with the San Diego Public Defenders Office. Mr. Tamayo is a graduate of Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
